Create a Cookie

Dough recipe:

¾ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
2 sticks (1 cup) butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla (use the real stuff - not artificial flavoring)
2 ¼ cup sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

With electric mixer beat together sugars and butter until blended. Add in two eggs and vanilla and beat well. Slowly add dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) into the mixer, beating well after each addition. You can make this dough in advance (not more than a day) and refrigerate it for the creative part.

Creative Ingredients:
various flavored chips
chopped up candy bars or candy bits
smashed up peppermints
gummy bears or chopped gummy worms
jelly beans or most anything you can find in your candy section
nuts
dried cranberries or other fruits

To Bake: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Use ungreased non-stick cookie pans (or line them with parchment paper). Either divide up the dough into smaller bowls and mix in whatever crazy ingredients you want, or just plop out a spoonful on the pan and stick in the ingredients. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack (or I use a large paper grocery bag ripped open and laid flat - it helps absorb some of the grease from the cookie). Now try a taste of your crazy creations.
